This Van Damme 4 core speaker cable is ideal for Bi-Wire systems. A high quality and affordable cable.

Van Damme black series speaker cable is the most comprehensive cable range dedicated to speaker level signals currently available. All cables within this range are manufactured using ultra pure oxygen free copper and the latest PVC composites for accurate signal transmission combined with excellent flexibility. From 1.5mm conductors for low power outputs to 4mm multicores developed to work with the live audio industry’s latest high power line array systems this range of cable caters for almost every speaker level application possible.

Materials
Van Damme now use a higher purity oxygen free copper for the conductors - Ultra Pure Oxygen Free Copper. The use of this material further improves the ‘solderability’ and conductivity of the conductor resulting in faithful and transparent signal reproduction. In common with most cables of its type, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) is used for the conductor insulation. There are many variant types of PVC used for cable insulation that may exhibit moderate, good or better electrical and mechanical properties. As speaker signals are essentially relatively high DC voltages, a low dielectric constant is not a priority. The PVC polymers used by Van Damme maximise the flexibility, heat resistance and stress resistance characteristics to ensure that there is a minimum of insulation ‘shrinkback’ when soldering and a high level of flexibility even after years of use and abuse.

The overall jacket material is a PVC composite that has excellent flexibility characteristics combined with tear resistance. For the 2 conductor cables, the jacket is high pressure extruded over the twisted inner conductors, to create a robust, extremely flexible speaker cable that has excellent ‘coilability’ in use. With the multicore cables, individual colour coded conductors are wrapped around a compressible hollow synthetic filler which is itself filled with natural textile fibres. Any undue torsion imposed on the speaker conductors during flexing is dissipated through this special filler preventing possible buckling or deformation of the cable.

Conductor stranding - 50 x 0.25mm
Overall diameter - 10.25mm
